SAN DIEGO FC STUN REIGNING CHAMPS LA GALAXY

Sunny day in Carson Ca, San Diego FC took on the Reigning Champs of the MLS the Los Angeles Galaxy. For San Diego FC it wasn’t also no ordinary game, it was inaugural game in the MLS. First game in franchise history.

Talking about pressure for San Diego FC what a way to start the season with the most successful club in the MLS the Los Angeles Galaxy. The Los Angeles Galaxy come of a spectacular season, Winning their Sixth Title in Franchise History, not only that but they managed not to lose at home at all last season going completely undefeated at Dignity Health Sports Park.

Fans Seem very excited before kickoff as they will get to see their club once again and also see their sixth banner go up. It was a sold out crowd in Carson Ca.

Kick-off approaches and both team seem to be getting a feel for the game. Early attacks from both sides had the fans buzzing and maybe anticipating an early goal in the game. Lots of San Diego FC fans were in the building for their first game. A minute into the game we got attacks on both sides, both teams came ready to play with all momentum. Early in the game San Diego FC seem to be having more possession than the LA Galaxy.

After a couple minutes went by the game was pretty quiet no action either way. Till the 44th minute San Diego FC commits a foul just outside the box. Anibal Godoy is the defender that commits the foul on Diego Fagundez. The foul caused Anibal Godoy a yellow card.

Just before the Half Marco Reus takes the free kick which goes wide right from the San Diego FC goalkeeper CJ dos Santos.

Key player Hirving Lozano #11 from San Diego FC struggled all first half. All eyes were on him since he was brought to San Diego to be the face of the franchise, so expectations were high. Hirving Lozano is known to be a fast paced player that runs down wings and cuts in to score. We didn’t see any of that the first half of the game.

Second half kicks off and just shortly after in the 51st minute San Diego FC gets the first goal of the night. The goal comes off Novak Micovic goalkeeper for La Galaxy playing a high ball in the box to Emilio Garces, which he isn’t able to control and Hirving Lozano takes advantage and gives a perfect touch to Anders Dreyer and Knocks down the first ever goal of San Diego FC History.

Something Galaxy fans surely did not expect to be losing to the new team on the block. Anders Dreyer #10 cemented himself in club history for San Diego FC.

Certainly not the way to win over fans for Novak Micovic, as he got the goalkeeper start over John McCarthy.

As the game continued San Diego seem to be holding possession more, they seem pretty comfortable on the ball, Outplaying the galaxy completely.

LA Galaxy newcomers didn’t seem to adapt quick they seem lost out on the field. Lucas Sanabria #8 and Christian Ramirez #17 both signed during the off season started for the La Galaxy. Of course like every new player it takes a while to adapt so hopefully they find their game soon. Both players were subbed off 15 minutes into the second half.

Five players from last years championship team started against San Diego FC, completely different team out there for LA.

A couple more scares came for LA as Anders Dreyer trys to return the favor to Hirving Lozano with a through ball which Hirving Lozano misses wide.

Hirving Lozano#11 comes off for Tomas Angel#9 in the 87th Minute. Tomas Angel#9 mad a huge impact right away creating a couple chances at goal. In stoppage time they go on a final counter attack. LA loses the ball outside there box and Anders Dreyer#10 gets the ball and sends a through ball to Tomas Angel #9 witch then he calms down outside the 18 yard line of LA, and sends a perfect pass inside the box which Anders Dreyer slots it in and seals the win. That was the second goal for Anders Dreyer. A brace for the striker and the first ever win in franchise history for San Diego FC.
