Lafc advance to round of 16 of champions cup

LAFC came into the game down 2-1 in the first round of the Concacaf Champions Cup. After winning their first game of the regular season they had a tough game ahead knowing they only needed one goal at home in the second leg. The away goal in Denver Colorado helped them, as an away goal in the tournament counts as two. LAFC was up for a huge test on a Tuesday night at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles CA.

Both teams didn’t do much the first half, where the real action happened was in the 49th minute. A cross from David Martinez#30 into the box where Mark Delgado#8 stretches and reaches the ball to slot it in for the first goal of the night. A goal the black and gold really needed.

This Marked LAFC’s midfielders Mark Delgado’s #8 first goal with the black and gold. A once cross town rival to the LA Galaxy. This was a great pick up for LAFC, as Mark Delgado brings in that leadership role and also has Championship DNA. Mark Delgado will surely be a player to watch this season with LAFC.

LAFC held on to the lead for the rest of the half and qualified with a win to the next round in the Concacaf Champions Cup.

Next game will be with Columbus Crew, which will be another epic test for the black and gold.
